Does THEA really use no chemical agents? Not even in the smallest amount?
Yes, absolutely. THEA uses no chemical agents or other additives. The change in the hair structure, or more precisely the reshaping of the hair, is achieved exclusively through THEA’s patented thermal shock principle. The treatment is therefore 100% natural.
How long does the effect last? Does it disappear after a few shampoos?
The effect is long-lasting, lasting several weeks to several months. It is not possible to give an exact duration, as every hair type has its own individual characteristics and genetic structure. However, based on our studies, the combined hot/cold action of the applicators permanently changes the hair structure. Before THEA, comparable transformations could only be achieved through chemical agents. With THEA, the reshaping remains in place; only natural hair regrowth allows the original hair shape to gradually return.
How long does a THEA treatment take?
Compared with traditional straightening treatments, treatment time is reduced by up to 30%. Long processing times for chemical products and extensive rinsing procedures are eliminated. The exact treatment time naturally depends on hair length.
Is the treatment safe for the professional performing it? Are there any fumes or toxic emissions?
Safety is a top priority. The treatment is safe for the professional and does not produce fumes or other potentially harmful emissions. Heat is combined with cold to create a natural yet technologically advanced thermal shock. The use of acids, keratin and various formaldehyde derivatives is eliminated. The air in the salon remains free from potentially harmful fumes.
Can I use Thea on hair that has already been chemically treated?
Yes, this is one of the great plus of Thea. Thea’s thermomechanical technology adjusts temperatures based on the condition of the hair. On sensitive hair previously subjected to potentially weakening treatments, Thea intervenes by sealing the cuticles and compacting the fiber. The thermal shock acts similarly to a structural reconstruction treatment.
Can thermal shock damage the hair?
No. The thermal shock is controlled by specially developed software and delivered through patented applicators. The software, sensors and acoustic signals guide and monitor the treatment process, ensuring a controlled and safe application.

What happens in high humidity? Will the hair become frizzy again?
No. THEA modifies the hair structure and gives the hair a new shape memory. Even high humidity, seawater or chlorinated pool water do not compromise the effectiveness of the treatment. The hair remains smooth, controlled and shiny in different weather conditions.
Will I lose my curls forever?
The THEA effect gradually fades over the course of several months. As the hair naturally grows, the original hair shape can gradually become visible again.
Will I still need to use a straightening iron at home after the treatment, even just a little?
No. After the treatment, you do not need a straightening iron to style your hair. For everyday styling, all you need is a hairdryer and your hands or a flat brush.
Are there any contraindications?
As THEA does not use chemical agents, the treatment is particularly gentle. However, any individual contraindications or limitations should be assessed before treatment.
Can I still color or bleach my hair?
Yes. Since THEA does not use chemical agents that interact with the pigments used in coloring or bleaching, these treatments are generally possible. However, we recommend allowing 1–2 weeks between treatments.
Does THEA work immediately?
Yes. Within just a few minutes, the hair begins to take on the desired shape – for a naturally smooth result or simply visibly reduced frizz.
